Robert L. Lewis
Managing Attorney

Robert founded the firm in 1995, but his work as an advocate for refugees and immigrants spans over 30 years. He speaks both Spanish and Portuguese and has successfully represented hundreds of immigrant clients, many with complex and difficult cases, at the immigration agencies and the federal courts.

He manages the firm’s staff of attorneys and support personnel. Robert often assesses a client’s unique legal circumstances and assigns specialized teams of our lawyers and paralegals to handle various components of a client’s case.

Robert obtained his Law degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law and studied under nationally renowned asylum expert Professor Karen Musalo. After graduation, Robert was selected by the U.S. Attorney General’s Honor Program and was appointed to the position of Judicial Law Clerk for U.S. Immigration Court in San Francisco, where he clerked for the Hon. Dana Marks and other immigration judges.

Robert is a member of Bars of the State California, the U.S. Court of Appeals for Ninth Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, and a long-time member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
